05 February 2025 A1200 REPAIR AND RE-CAP
I had Mark look over an aging Amiga 1200 motherboard for me. He give it the works and repaired an issue with one of the op amps that I wasn’t even aware off. He also re-capped as requested with polymer caps to ensure a longer life span.
I found Mark super helpful and friendly and also very informative. He also made my job priority due to delays caused by unforeseen weather circumstances. He didn’t need to do that but went above and beyond for me that is someone I would be happy to pay for their services again. I thought his communication was also brilliant, and trust me you want to know what is going with your beloved hardware when it is sent off somewhere for repair so this is appreciated. I will be a returning customer for sure.

Absolutely fantastic service! I sent my A1200 in for a polymer recap, and Mark kept me up to date throughout.
Fast turnaround, amazing communications, and even a video showing the diagnostic test afterwards.
Mark is extremely knowledgeable, and gave great advice regarding timing fixes specific to my board revision. He’s even moved the clockport header pins (I was one of the lucky ones where the factory put them in the wrong position).

i sent my amiga 500 to rude dog retros to be serviced, as well as for a keyboard repair as several keys no longer worked.
before any work commenced, mark let me know exactly what work needed to be done (which included photos), and how much it would cost.
when the work was completed, mark provided more photos of the completed work, plus a very in depth test video of the amiga running.
from start to finish, mark’s communication has been excellent. the photos and video that mark provided gave me confidence that the work has been done to a high standard.
i would highly recommend rude dog retros for any retro servicing or repairs.
i have now been enjoying playing on my amiga once again, and showing my kids some of the games i used to play on it.

Amazing company no question about it. Mark is just brilliant person and very passionate about retro machines . He called me straight away asking everything what’s wrong with my Amiga 1200 and told me what he need to do to fix it . 500+ with multiple faults fixed rapidly and at a good price and speedy service by Rude Dog. I had managed to break the A500+ to black screen of death and was out of my depth/time to repair. Rude Dog gave me a full list of the issues and prices to fix them before work commenced. Work was done super quick and I had the A500+ back in working state. Work is very nice and tidy with a high quality of soldering. I was kept updated through the process as well. Very happy customer.
