Repair your ZX Spectrum 16 / 48k computer.
Parts are in addition to this and you will need to post the item to us. The price for shipping the repair back will be added to the cost.
If we think the item will cost much more to repair, we will discuss the way forward with you or return your money less the cost of shipping the item back.
Average turnaround is 2-3 weeks but please bear with us during busier times.
We only use quality parts. We always try to use new old stock or newly manufactured parts as close to the originals as we can manage.
If your Spectrum requires a ULA replacement, we will contact you with the cost. Custom chips such as ULA’s (5/6/7C.xxx, PCF1306P, ZX8401 etc.) LM1889, DRAM and chip sockets are not covered in the basic cost.
With all Spectrum repairs, we perform a composite mod so that you can use it on modern televisions (unless you specify otherwise).
Included in the basic cost, we will perform the following upgrades as part of the repair:
- Clean the motherboard in an IPA bath.
- Clean the edge connector so that Spectrum peripherals work better.
- Install a composite video modification inside the RF modulator so that you can still use the connector on the back of the Spectrum to connect it to a VIDEO input on a T.V or monitor.

As per my ZX81 can’t recommend Mark highly enough for the work done – replaced caps , fitted composite mod and ram chip so my 48k spectrum didn’t think it was a 16k one. Videos and pictures of work and testing also much appreciated (wish my car garage was as good!!!). Another excellent job and now think I’ll be buying the SD card loader.
