Thanks for looking at our listing for a refurbished Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128k Toastrack
Work carried out:
- 4 RAM chips replaced.

- New +5v regulator replaced for new 2A version and plug fitted to the board for easier removal.
- Z-80 CPU replaced.
- Complete change of all electrolytic capacitors for new, good quality aluminium types.
- All cases cleaned inside and out.
- Keyboard cleaned.
- Newer style keyboard membrane fitted.
The power supply has been tested and its capacitor(s) changed. It’s not the original supply that came with the 128k toastrack, but it is a grey power supply that originally came with a ZX spectrum +2. It produces more current (2.1Amp) compared to the slightly anaemic 128k toastrack power supply which supplied 1.8Amp. It will allow plenty of headroom to plug in peripherals without running out of juice.
We’ve tested the machine with diagnostics ROMs for several hours. We’ve also tested the machine with a combination of 48k and 128k games and demos for a couple of hours and it works flawlessly.
This is a nice 128k toastrack ZX Spectrum that has been well cared for, but just needed repairing and a little TLC to bring it back to its former glory.
It will be easier to repair in the future, too, as just about all the chips onboard are in sockets.
Condition is Seller refurbished.
