Spectrum 16k – BOXED with Power Supply and Manuals

Hi, and thanks for looking at our listing for this Boxed ZX Spectrum 16k computer.

These 16k Spectrums are getting VERY rare now, especially those that still have their original box!

We have carried out the following work:

• Replaced 1 lower RAM chip (IC6) with a same brand new old stock NEC D416C chip
• Replaced a blown TR4

We have not touched anything else inside this 16k Spectrum so as to keep it as original as possible, except to get it working once more.  We’ve replaced the RAM chip with the same brand (NEC) used when it was built.

We haven’t replaced the electrolytic capacitors, again to keep it as original as possible.  If you want us to replace them with new, good quality types, contact us after the auction and we can do that, along with the voltage regulator for £19.99.

If you want us to replace the innards of the TV RF modulator with a PCB that will allow you to use the AV input on your TV instead of the RF output, we can do that for £10.99.  This will get you a much better picture out of the Spectrum on new TV’s.

The RAM has been tested for 2 hours using a diagnostic ROM.  Tape loading has also been tested using several original tape games.  Saving to cassette has also been tested and works fine.  All in all this is a nice machine with a great picture output.

It has all the sockets populated to allow you to upgrade it to a 48k Spectrum if you wish to do so.  We can also do that for you.  Contact us after the auction to discuss.

This case is pretty clean (see the pictures), and the Spectrum works beautifully.

It comes with it’s original box, the polys and the manuals.  There is wear and tear on the box that you can see form the pictures.
