After getting my Spectrum down out the loft after over 20 years I knew it would need a bit of a refurbish, to say the least! Once I packaged it up and sent it off Mark provided me with a comprehensive breakdown of the activities he recommended, including a number of different approaches dependent on my requirements/budget.
Along with the refurb I wanted to understand what modifications could be made to get my Spectrum working with modern hardware. Mark provided a wealth of information and took me through all the available options.
After a short period of time my Spectrum was back with me. It works better now than when I first took it out the box 30+ years ago! I highly recommend Rudedog Retros! The work they carried out and the advice offered was top notch. All turned around within a week. Great price and even better service.

I had recently bought a ZX Spectrum 128+ from Ebay and it was in need of a bit TLC.
I asked for recommendations on a Facebook group and before long Rudedog Retros were introduced to me. I fired an email off, and within a short space of time Mark from Rudedog was going through the options that my poorly Spectrum would need to bring it back to full health.
I packaged everything up and sent it off hoping that it wasn’t going to take an age as some repair companies couldn’t look at my Spectrum for up to 6 weeks. A couple of days later Mark messaged me to go through what he was going to do, he sounded very knowledgeable and a few days later he was back on to say it was all ready and he went through the return options. In exactly a week my Spectrum was back…… Working absolutely spot on, Mark even recommended a new RGB cable and sent me a link to order one. My Spectrum has never been better – Super sharp display, no background hiss. Everything cleaned and professionally serviced. I can’t recommend Rudedog Retros highly enough. Fantastic service at an amazing price.
